Arieh Smith[1] (born: July 20, 1990 (1990-07-20) [age 35]),[2] better known online as Xiaomanyc 小马在纽 or Xiaoma,[3] is an American[3] YouTuber who studies many languages. He mainly knows Chinese, and that's mostly what his channel is based on. He is a white man who goes to surprise people who are Chinese by speaking their language to make them feel at home and to make sure they have a big surprise.[4] The people mostly get really happy, and sometimes freaked out. He also speaks several other languages.[5][6][7]
Personal life[]
He grew up in New York City, and his visits to Chinatown with his dad was his first interest in the Chinese culture and language. He took Chinese courses in college but found them frustrating. He got a chance to visit China in his sophomore year and started to use the language more.[1]
Arieh currently resides in his hometown of New York City when he is not traveling,[8] and is currently married to a Chinese wife from Shaanxi.[9] They have two kids, Elan and Meira.[10][11]
